Barry, the St. Bernard dog takes center stage on this magnificent chalet cuckoo clock. Off to the right you’ll find two of Barry’s puppies playing in a sweet, snug little hut while a third puppy shyly watches from outside. When music announces the hour, the turntable inside the small hut begins to rotate, creating the charming impression that the puppies are chasing one another. One of the most distinctive features of this piece is the Brienz-styled roof that’s carved from a single piece of wood. You’ll also discover an impressively large waterwheel that, when it rotates with the music, seems to be moved by the force of flowing water. On the hour, our steadfast cuckoo bird makes his announcement, after which one of two delightful tunes plays alternately. Upon hearing the music, four couples on the balcony, dressed in traditional Swiss attire, begin a merry dance. Finally, as with all Loetscher chalet cuckoo clocks, the decorative flowers and geraniums are crafted from sand pebbles found on the banks of Lake Brienz. Movement runs for eight straight days before you need to wind up the chain. Dancing couples who are positioned below the cuckoo and are set into motion as the music plays. A waterwheel that turns with the music, and puppies in the hut who rotate on a turntable when the music plays. The figurines are hand-carved and hand-painted, which makes each one of them original and unique. A manual night switch that allows you to turn off the music and cuckoo sounds without interrupting clock movement.
